Colourful Sapphire Sea Treasure Ring - Size L1/2

Colourful Sapphire Sea Treasure Ring - Size L1/2

Made by Sophie, this ring showcases three colourful reclaimed sapphires - one pale green, one yellow and one pink - set in two-tone yellow and white gold cast in beach sand. The resulting ring is truly one of a kind.

Sophie gave us some words detailing her inspirations:

"I was thinking about sandcasting relating to 'a sense of place'. I then began thinking about Daphne Du Maurier and how the Cornish landscape forms her storytelling. The ring was cast in sand from Polkerris, a heartland within Du Maurier country as I wanted to evoke a sense of the dramatic coastline that is so integral to many Du Maurier stories. The large sapphires set within a somewhat bulbous and rounded setting are intended to mimic a ring over time, lost in the oceans. I imagined perhaps the ring thrown from a clifftop in an atmosphere broiling with tension, washed ashore years later, having been softened by the sea - an amulet from a life lived long before us. The two different tones of gold are a nod to the duality of the Cornish topography, with wet boggy moorlands plunging towards rugged granite cliffs."

This ring is a size L1/2 and can be resized.
